Happiness wisdom quotes

1) “Happiness... consists in giving, and in serving others.”

-Henry Drummond

We cannot love anyone else unless we love ourself. To love ourself is to be able to give and serve others while to hate ourself is to do otherwise. When we see life in a negative way, we see people in a negative way as well. And, when we see life in the positive scope, we see people in the scope of positivity as well. To think that we love ourself when we view life and people in a negative way is to be blind and fail to see the true light in life.

2) “We are no longer happy so soon as we wish to be happier.”

-Walter Savage Landor

When we are truly happy, nobody wishes to be happier than that moment. This is how when we are no longer happy so soon as we wish to be happier. We just don't think of such thing when we are in the state of happiness. When we wish to be happier, it means that we aren't happy enough at that current state of moment to think otherwise.

3) “When unhappy, one doubts everything; when happy, one doubts nothing.”

-Joseph Roux

People take drugs, such as ecstasy and cocaine, because it makes them so happy to the point that they doubt nothing. It makes one feel so good to the point that they feel that they can do anything in this world and have everything as well. However, because of how bad it is to our mental health and physical health with all sorts of negative side effects to it, it is why they are illegal. If we know how to be truly happy by releasing an enough amount of the chemical of serotonin and dopamine in our brain we too can feel no doubt in anything.

4) “The happiness which is lacking makes one think even the happiness one has unbearable.”

-Joseph Roux

Without knowing the proper way of being truly happy we will view other people being happy in the wrong way as the right way. And, therefore, we will view even the happiness one has to be unbearable. If we view happiness the right way and see it for what it really is we too can see that real happiness isn't unbearable.

5) “A sure way to lose happiness, I found, is to want it at the expense of everything else.”

-Bette Davis

When we are truly happy we are happy regardless of what we have and not unhappy for what we don't have. To think that we need to have everything in this world to make us happy only shows that we still don't know how to be truly happy nor know what it is like to be happy without having everything this world possesses. There are things that money can buy but there are also thing that money cannot.
